Broad bean supersimonia produces very long pods of light green color, each containing 7-10 grains with a delicately sweet taste and tender texture. Broad bean supersimonia are among the most preferred ones by the farmers for both their taste and the high yield they ensure. In the hottest zones, it can be sowed already in October-November, while in the coldest ones it is preferable to sow only in the spring, because the plants are damaged by humidity and sudden temperature changes. Only in case of dryness it is recommended to irrigate and they require few treatments. Broad bean supersimonia must be harvested when the pods are still green and soft, and is rich in vitamin B, folic acid and iron, moreover it prevents diabetes and lower the cholesterol level.
